Get started with AngerAlert and learn how to monitor your inbox effectively.

Getting Started

Follow these steps to set up AngerAlert and start monitoring your email:

Step 1: Sign In

Sign in with your Microsoft 365 or Google account. No installation required.

Step 2: Connect Your Mailbox

Grant AngerAlert permission to read your emails. Go to Settings → Accounts to connect your Microsoft 365 or Gmail account. We request only the permissions needed to analyze incoming messages and send notifications on your behalf.

Step 3: Create Your First Rule

Rules are the heart of AngerAlert. They define what happens when emails arrive. Without rules, emails are analyzed but no actions are taken. Go to Settings → Rules to:

  • Choose from pre-built rule templates (recommended for getting started)
  • Or create custom rules tailored to your needs

Step 4: Start Monitoring

Once your rules are set up, AngerAlert automatically analyzes incoming emails in real-time. When an email matches a rule's conditions, the configured actions are triggered.

How Rules Work

Rules are what make AngerAlert powerful. Each rule consists of conditions and actions:

Conditions

Define when a rule should trigger:

  • Sentiment Level: Detect emails with high anger, moderate concern, or other emotional tones
  • Keywords: Match specific words or phrases in the email content
  • Sender Patterns: Filter by sender email address or domain

Actions

Define what happens when conditions are met:

  • Send Notification: Get alerted via email or Microsoft Teams
  • Forward Email: Automatically forward the email to a colleague or team
  • Auto-Respond: Send an automatic acknowledgment to the sender

Rule Templates

We provide pre-built templates for common scenarios:

  • Alert on highly angry emails
  • Notify when VIP customers write
  • Escalate urgent complaints
  • And more...

Templates are a great starting point. You can customize them or create entirely new rules.
